Helpful Hints and Tips #2

Wish I had found this at Christmas

Word of caution on this one.  Put a cover over anything with sauce, unless you want an explosion of sauce in your microwave. What a mess!

I use a spaghetti stick for lighting the fireplace, have for years.
I hope these are helpful to some of youhttp://snugglebugbabyandme.blogspot.com/p/helpful-hints-and-tips.html.

Helpful Hints and Tips #1

Over the next several days, I'm going to give everyone some Helpful tidbits that even I had not even considered. Here goes...enjoy!

This brings those hanging plastic hangers to a whole different level.

Perfect for lunches and beverage totes huh?

Not just for checks. Who keeps loose checks anymore?
I'm always looking for something to store spagetti in! You can even customize it with rolling a piece of white paper around the container, secure it with scotch tape, and write what the contents are.

Green Onions-All year long?

I recently discovered that we can have Green Onions (Scallions) any time of year, any time we want, and never have to pay for them again. How? You grow them yourself. I didn't believe this was possible, so I had to do it myself. In 2 weeks I had grown my own Green Onions and they taste fresh as the ones I purchased at our grocery store.

Here's how it's done: First, grab some onions that you plan to cook with or add to your green salad.

Then, cut off those white stem roots that you don't use and usually throw away.

Then, take those white stem roots and put them in a glass of water.

Wait about 2 weeks making sure that you keep enough water in the glass to cover the stalks about 1/2 way up, and you will have fresh onions. I just put mine on a window sill in my kitchen that gets minimum sun.

The Green Onions in the Glass came from the White Stem Ends
My test only used a few stems, but if you usually use 6 or 7 onions at a time, you can stagger your growing time by waiting 4 or 5 days before making a second batch.

That's it for this little money saving tidbit. Hope you liked it!

Wishing everyone a very Happy and Prosperous New Year!

The year 2012 was a year of change for me, that provided some pretty interesting affects. In 2012, I:

  • Started this Web site: Snuggle Bug Baby &ME. Why start another Baby site? Good Question.  I am going to reposition my Nana G Creations into a shop that has other things that I love to do in the way of crafting. I love making my baby stuff, but also have a passion for so many other crafting ideas.
  • Set up new blogs for both SBB &ME, Nana G Creations and my Maur Designs
  • Gave my Nana G Creations website -Nana G Creations a total new facelift, so that when I formally change the name on it, it will not be a dramatic change for my customers.
There are other personal ones as well, but I'll keep those in my heart for now.  I have so many great Business idea's in my head, and looking forward to implementing them one baby step at a time.

I'm Ready 2013!!!
